Addison is a compact town of 16,661 people (2020 Census) in Dallas County, right next door to Farmers Branch and about 3 miles from our base. It is an unusual place to move out of. Addison Airport takes up roughly an eighth of the town, and about half of its 9,533 households in 2020 were one person living alone. Many residents live in the apartments and townhomes of Addison Circle and the newer buildings of Vitruvian Park, while Midway Meadows offers quieter single-family streets. That mix shapes the move. Apartment moves may involve building rules on elevators and loading times, and the town bans box trucks, trailers and any vehicle over 25 feet long, 8 feet wide or 10 feet tall from parking overnight between midnight and 6 a.m., so loading is planned for daylight hours. From Addison, an interstate truck usually reaches the highway network by the Dallas North Tollway or by Belt Line Road west toward I-35E. Green Van Lines has moved DFW households to other states since 2007, when it began as the first eco-friendly moving company in the US.

Addison questions

Can a moving truck park overnight outside my Addison home or apartment?

Generally no. Addison prohibits box trucks, trailers and any vehicle over 25 feet long, 8 feet wide or 10 feet tall from parking between midnight and 6 a.m. in areas on its Restricted Parking Map. Brief loading and unloading is allowed, so the truck is loaded and driven out the same day.

Which road will the truck take out of Addison?

Most long-distance trucks leave by the Dallas North Tollway, or by Belt Line Road west to I-35E in Carrollton. The Keller Springs Road toll tunnel under Addison Airport is another east-west link between the tollway and I-35E.

How far is Addison from Green Van Lines in Farmers Branch?

About 3 miles. Addison borders Farmers Branch, so the crew's drive to your door is short.
