Green Van Lines was the first eco-friendly moving company in the United States, and since 2007 the same idea has run the business: move households across the country without leaving a trail of disposable material behind them.
The beginning
A moving company that started with the environment in mind.
In 2007 the moving industry ran on single-use cardboard, plastic wrap and whatever routing was cheapest that week. Green Van Lines was founded in Dallas as the first mover in the country to build the opposite way: reusable materials as the default, route planning that treats fuel as a cost to the planet and the customer, and a fleet operated with that in mind.
That decision shaped everything that came after it, including the specialty we are known for now: long-distance moving out of Dallas–Fort Worth to the rest of the country.

Starting on the truck
Guy Cohen, who later founded Green Van Lines, starts in the moving industry as a mover and goes on to work every position in the business.

Long distance becomes the core of the work: Guy builds long-distance departments for three other moving companies before opening his own.
