Hurst is a Mid-Cities suburb in northeast Tarrant County with 40,413 residents in the 2020 Census. The city was largely built out between the 1960s and 1990s, so a typical move here starts at a ranch-style or traditional home on a modest, tree-shaded lot. The oldest homes and most of the city's apartments sit around Hurstview and the Pipeline Road corridor, while neighborhoods such as Bellaire Park, Brookhollow and Shady Brook date mostly from the 1970s and early 1980s. North Hurst, along Precinct Line Road, has somewhat newer two-story homes. Most students attend Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD and L.D. Bell High School, though parts of the city fall in Birdville, Grapevine-Colleyville and Keller ISDs. The SH 121/183 Airport Freeway runs east-west through Hurst, past North East Mall, and gives a loaded truck a direct link to Loop 820, Fort Worth and the routes toward Dallas. Green Van Lines, a DFW long-distance mover founded in 2007 and the first eco-friendly moving company in the US, is based about 25 miles east in Farmers Branch.

Hurst questions

Which highway does a long-distance truck use leaving Hurst?

Most trips start on the SH 121/183 Airport Freeway, which runs east-west through Hurst. It connects west to Loop 820 and Fort Worth, and east toward DFW Airport and Dallas, depending on where you are headed.

What should I expect when moving out of an older Hurst home?

Much of Hurst was built between the 1960s and 1990s, so many homes are single-story ranches with mature trees and established landscaping. Low branches and narrower driveways can affect where the truck parks, so check access before moving day.

Which school district will my Hurst address be in?

Most of Hurst is in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, whose high school serving the city is L.D. Bell. Smaller areas are in Birdville ISD (far west), Grapevine-Colleyville ISD (far north) and Keller ISD, so confirm by address when requesting records.
