Dallas is a city of 1,304,379 people (2020 Census), and it spreads beyond Dallas County into Collin, Denton, Kaufman and Rockwall counties. That size means no two Dallas moves look alike. A move from Uptown, Lakewood, Lake Highlands or the Bishop Arts District in North Oak Cliff each needs its own plan for truck access and timing. Most Dallas households rent (about 60% in 2018), so many of our moves start in apartment buildings with loading docks, elevators and building rules. Getting out of town is easier than getting around it. Interstates 20, 30, 35E and 45 all run through the city, I-635 and I-20 form the LBJ loop, and the President George Bush Turnpike forms the outer ring. Street parking needs planning, because the city code limits where commercial vehicles can park or stand on public streets. Green Van Lines has moved people from Dallas to other states since 2007 and was the first eco-friendly moving company in the US. We are based in Farmers Branch, about 12 miles north of downtown.

Dallas questions
Can a moving truck park on my Dallas street?
Dallas City Code Sec. 28-80 restricts truck-tractors, trailers, buses and other commercial motor vehicles from parking, stopping or standing on public streets. We plan staging ahead of time and recommend checking with your building or the city about loading space before move day.
Which highway will my belongings leave Dallas on?
It depends on the destination. Interstates 20, 30, 35E and 45 all run through Dallas, with US 75 heading north and the I-635/I-20 LBJ loop and President George Bush Turnpike circling the city. We route from your neighborhood to the interstate that heads toward your new state.
I'm moving out of an apartment. Is that common in Dallas?
Very. About 60% of Dallas housing was renter-occupied as of 2018. Tell us about elevators, loading docks, reserved move-out times and any other building rules, so we can schedule the crew to fit them.
